Selous Safari Camp
Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania is the largest protected area in the whole of Africa. It is vast, little known and undeveloped reserve teeming with a great diversity of wildlife. Selous Safari Camp is in the northern section of the reserve, remote from any other camps in a particularly good area for game.
Selous Safari Camp is a well established and popular tented camp overlooking a lake fed by the Rufiji River. There the camp is split into two with a main camp of nine tents and a smaller camp with just four. Each camp will have its own dining and lounge area as well as its own pool and the large comfortable safari tents are raised on platforms each with en-suite facilities. The tents are well spaced out from each other, providing complete privacy.
You can choose from walking safaris, boat trips or game drives in an open vehicle. A stay at Selous Safari Camp will suit anybody who likes to travel in areas well away from tourist hot spots. The Rufiji River is a magnet for birds as well as having a high concentration of hippo and crocodile. Land based game sightings, which are especially good between June and October, include wild dog, lion, giraffe and elephant.
