Detailed itineraryThe holy trail Egypt and Israel DAY 1 EGYPT Arrive at the Cairo International Airport, transfer to hotel. Start tour by visiting the Pyramids of Giza. Cheops (Khufu) Pyramid, largest of the three, was built in the 3rd Dynasty about 2690 BC, and is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In front of the Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre), find the Sphinx carved from a single piece of stone. It is a lion with a Pharaoh's head thought to be a portrait of the pharaoh Chephren (Khafre). DAY 3 EGYPT climb Mountain of St. Catharine which is the place where Moses climbed up the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments. Also view the famous Greek Orthodox Monastery which is built around the Burning Bush and the well where Moses met his wife Zebura (daughter of Jethro, the priest of Median).
